THEY SPEAK ENGLISH!!!
I liked London a lot! Probably because I could actually have a conversation with someone that I didn't know!
So this trip didn't start out as planned. I was going with four other people and when I got to the metro station to take the metro to the train station in Lille I realized I forgot my passport! I live about a ten minute walk from the metro station. I ended up running back to my apartment and grabbing my passport and then running back to the metro. I was going to make it! With only seconds to spare! I am running and running and I get up to the station to go to London. They wouldn't let me through :( In order to go to London you have to go through customs and they said I had to wait for the next train. My train I was supposed to be on was still sitting on the platform right where I could see it.
I don't have a cell phone, so I never was able to meet back up with my group. It turned out to be just fine. I knew of the places I wanted to see and just toured London on my own. I didn't mind at all. I was just so excited to be able to understand everyone for the first time in almost 3 months! I was laughing to myself the entire time, because of their accents. Words they say are just really humorous.
I was there when they were having the protests. Thousands and thousands of people were walking in front of the parliament building blocking all of the metro stations. So I but on my army gear and plowed through the crowd and got to where I needed to go.
I didn't know what hotel we were staying in, so I decided that I had seen everything that I wanted to see and took the train back to France. It was a really quick day trip, but well worth it.

nice, too bad you couldn't hook up with your buds. Sounds like you had a great time though. Love ya, dad
