France is good, France is real good.

School is starting to pick up in pace. We got a new project today where we will be planning a urban space that includes apartments, shops, a bakery, and design studios. We have two weeks to do it, which is a bit scary. I am leaving for Copenhagen, Denmark Saturday morning for the weekend. I will be back in Blois Monday night I believe. Then on Wednesday our class is going with the french students to go sketch and take pictures at a chateau out in the country. Then next Friday our class leaves for Paris for the weekend. So what I am trying to say is WHEN are we going to fit in this project? I just hope that expectations are nothing as high as what they are back in Fargo where all I have to do is work on the projects.

I went to Orleans, France yesterday and walked around. It was a bit miserable, because the weather wasn't the greatest. It was rainy and cold. It was definitely worth the trip though. All of the experience I can get the better here in Europe!

I mentioned that I am going to Copenhagen, Denmark this Saturday! I am super excited and can't wait!! Stay tuned, the next post will be pictures from my trip!

I took a day trip to Tour, France by train to look around and see what the neighboring city was like. It was much busier than Blois. The stores were packed! I had no interest in shopping really, because you couldn't move in the stores.

We came across an interesting building that was more modern than what the rest of the architecture was. I wouldn't say that I got too excited about it, but there were a few things that were neat.

I spent a lot of time in the Cathedral walking around and sitting and trying to imagine how in the world they built things like that back in the day.

Today was another walking day. A few of us... (the ones in the shadow pictures) went for a long long walk. We made it out of town to look back into the city. We came across some really interesting details.

The French students prepared a meal for us today, so we could meet each other and try their food. They eat a lot of quiche, bread, and wine. It actually was very good. I haven't been to excited about the food yet in France, because it is just breads and more breads. Today was good though. They don't party, but they "pump it up" :) SO... hopefully they invite us this weekend to "pump it up." They don't go to the bars, but stay in apartments and hang out.

This weekend we are planning on traveling out of Blois and going to a few neighboring towns called Tour and Orleans. It will be good to go and visit other cities and see how they differ.

Here are some more pictures from todays walk.

School started today and we just did the basics. We are starting with a group project doing analysis of different aspects in Blois. Our schedule seems a little bare for classes. We don't have class tomorrow (Wednesday), Friday, or Monday. Maybe things will get a little more organized in a week or two.

The French students invited us to join them for lunch on Thursday, so that will be good to meet other students.

I am not sure what is going to happen this weekend, but I think that we will be getting out of Blois. Tour and Orleans are two neighboring cities that would be interesting to go check out.

Today Kirsten (left), Lauren (middle), and I went to the Chateau of Blois. It was interesting to see where all the kings and the royal familys lived.

I played around with the camera and figured out how to take continuous pictures. Then photoshopped them together and WA-LA!! PANORAMAS!!!

School starts tomorrow! Excited to see what we get for a project while we are in France. It will be interesting with not a lot of tools or materials.

Thanks for following!

Today was the street market. Many vendors brought all sorts of goods to sell. I was there for viewing only.

Just more exploring today... A few of us found the library that is MY kind of architecture!! I was really excited about it. Concrete and more concrete!! I will be returning several times in the next month that I have here.
